§ Peer Ambassadors- AFAM teen grp that works with at risk youth, decision making trainings, counseling, change group how to change different problems, JDC focus group, building upon their strengths, sit on SAMSHA iniative board. Leadership development

Important to get the peer to peer supportà sooner or later it will be in place and will help youth be at the table. Nice to have processs done earlier

Timeline: Would like to have a draft chapter application by march; continue having consistent calls to support communities; finalize applicationin March when champaign infrastructure is more solidified
Peer Ambassadors Conference
Focus this year is on youth advocacy in media

McHenry and Cook willing have a presence at conference and help with preliminary
planning
Saint Clair County needs more family activities insted of just adult activities. I belive that there is a great need for a teen mental health group to help those suffering with mental illnesses to help cope with society and peer pressure due to being different. Also i think there is a great need for a transitioning group to help those going from all types of backgroungs to adult hood. There is a great need for job training and job skill training. Many teens suffer trying to get jobs and not knowing how or were to get one. I think there is a drug problem and we shoould try to intervein earlier than school trys to do. There is also a high drop out rate that is another one were we should try to intervein befor it happens.
